Charming Cambridge & Wimpole Estate

Cambridge is just so typically British.  I just loved everything about it, except it is really bustling with people, so a bit crowded for such a small place. The atmosphere for me screamed college town, but over there they call them unis, and there are so many packed in to one city. I loved feeling like we were walking around a Hogwarts town and our afternoon tea was to die for. Totally not my bike, but it was just so cute! Feeling like we are at Hogwarts! A stroll on the banks A unique experience we had while here was going to a very secluded river club in Cambridge. After an afternoon walking around this Hogwarts like city, afternoon tea at the cutest little place ever and searching for the perfect uni courtyard we are picked up on the backside of the colleges and taken down the road. You would never even know it was there as you drive by, but you just pull off the road to park and walk down an overrun path to a locked wooden gate. Once inside you wind t...

The English Countryside

After a whirlwind day in London, we head to the countryside to a quiet village just outside of St. Neots. Shayna has family here and we spend the next couple of days relaxing in their lovely country home and enjoying the scenery. While staying here we walk around the quaint village, enjoyed the music of a youth orchestra, spent a day in Cambridge, swam at a local private river club and toured Wimpole Estate. All of this such a treat provided by her family. Shayna's welcoming family Beautiful old church we walked to Royal Mail I just loved the hedges Traditional thatched roof house A field of wildflowers For me one of the most enjoyable times I had was sitting by the river at a local pub in St. Neots, enjoying a cider, and chatting with the girls. I was absolutely relaxed, just sitting and enjoying the time like the locals. As soon as we sat down boats were going up and down the river, swans were swimming and you could hear the cars as they rolled ov...

London Town

So it's been awhile. Nonetheless there have been various trips and adventures since the last time we posted. To get us back on track we will begin with some European fun! Over the summer Kelsey along with her cousin Shayna went to the UK and Ireland for a 12 day girls trip. A direct overnight flight from Atlanta had us hitting the ground running as we made our way into the city. Waiting in ATL to jump the pond First stop in the UK, London. My what a whirlwind experience. We were only there for about 24 hours, but we made the most of it. We walked nearly 7.5 miles that day going around looking at all the sights, obviously not having time to go in each one, but we were able to admire from the outside. We made it to the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the gardens, shopping at Fortnum & Mason in the West End, all before dark. So much walking, but it was nice to be off the plane and exploring the city by foot. Just a typical London day W...
