Simply Savannah: Day 3

Day 3 in Savannah started off right with breakfast at J. Christopher's. A great little diner style eatery near the beautiful Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Parking can be difficult in this area sometimes but there is street parking on all sides of the block.
Biscuits and gravy, cheese eggs and cheese grits
From breakfast is was back to Tybee for another day of lounging on the beach. Today Yona and I decided we were going to bring our champagne to drink. So we filled up the Yeti with ice and stuffed our bottles of Veuve Cliqout and Moet in and set out for the day. Once our umbrellas were up we took a seat and just enjoyed the day.
Of course we had to take a few pictures of us being extra for the day.

Our day on Tybee is not complete until we eat at The Crab Shack. Our final time eating here for the weekend.

No trip to Savannah is complete for us until we eat at the Olde Pink House. We decided on our first trip to Savannah that we would eat at this place every trip, that's just how good it is. We have already worked our way through the menu for three years now and we cannot wait to continue our tradition from year to year. If you plan on eating here I recommend booking reservations well in advance, for this weekend we book about a month out.
Shrimp and Scallop Alfredo
Another tradition we hope to keep alive is taking picture on the balcony of the Olde Pink House for the next 30 years. Our plan is to continue to visit Savannah annually for as long as we can. Savannah has always treated us well and we hope to keep visiting and exploring this beautiful city we fell in love with.
There are several places we have ate at, drank at and explored over the years, if you have any questions or want further recommendations just ask!

Next up, follow Kelsey as she and her mom (birthday girl) head to Jamaica!

Fall Fun in the Park

This weekend the trio hopped back on their Remember the Removal bikes and took a ride in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is a beautiful time of year to visit the park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather has been warm in the afternoon so we decided to take a ride while the weather was so nice. The sun was shining bright, the leaves are gold, orange, red and since it is prime leaf looking season cars everywhere! Besides the heavy traffic we enjoyed our ride. The elk were out enjoying the sun and a late lunch. The leaves falling as we rode to Smokemont Campground made the ride a fall dream. The colors were so vibrant and crunching under the wheels. I loved having a moment to just enjoy the outdoors even if I'm paying for it today. The soreness has set in because I haven't been on my bike in months, but it was so worth it! Since we are all busy with work and travel we have to find ways to stay healthy. Biking is a good way for us to do that and I loved spending th...

Scottish Highlands and the Hairy Coo!

Traveling North outside of the city is quite an adventure. You have two bridges to choose from, one old sturdy bridge or a newer bridge with wider space, both are architectural beauties! We traveled by coach on a tour through Viator. It was the most convenient option for traveling through the Highlands and getting on the Jacobite aka, the "Harry Potter Train." This was an overnight tour from Edinburgh to Fort William with several stops along the way. We heard so many stories along the way about Mary Queen of the Scots, the Loch Ness and Nessie, Jacobites, wars, Glen Coe and whiskey. Coming from the mountains of WNC we found a lot in common with the Highlanders, very similar stories of little people, whiskey/moonshine, and folk music. Made us feel like we were riding around home! I really enjoyed our tour guide and the tour overall, I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting an easy navigation through the Highlands. There is just so much I can say about how amaz...
