Fall in love with Forsyth Park and Tybee

While in Savannah we decided to walk around our Airbnb neighborhood and take a ride out to Tybee Island. In the fall it can be windy and cold so bundle up and venture out! We were there on the weekend so we were able to check out the Farmer's Market in Forsyth Park. It is on the South end of the park near a really good coffee shop. We went to the Sentient Bean for a warm drink and breakfast. After we walked across the street to walk the park and check out all the market goodies. After exploring the park we decided to take a drive out to the beach and look around. We did not get to sit and enjoy the sun or the beach, but it was still nice to ride around and check out the lighthouse. In all the years we've been going to Tybee I have never been to the lighthouse so this was a nice surprise! Of course you can't go to Tybee without grabbing lunch at the Tybee Island Crab Shack! After lunch we headed back to the city to shop! I found a new jacket f...

Fall Fun in Savannah

Back to one of my favorite places, Savannah. This time I took my mom with me so she could see what all the fuss is about. We got up bright and early so we could eat at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. We got there around 11 and it was wrapped around the corner already. This is the longest I have ever waited in line to eat here, but once again was so worth it! My mom loved it and I was glad to share this with her. We left their miserable full and decided to walk around a bit. There are some really cute boutiques around the area where Mrs. Wilkes is located. My favorite shop is One Fish, Two Fish. They always have the cutest things,  but my new favorite might be The Paris Market. I am absolutely obsessed with everything in there. We checked another cute store next door called, La Paperie. They carry Kate Spade paper goods, desk accessories and holiday goodies. My mom picked me up a super Kate Spade travel mug and I got a new book: A Savannah Christmas; Interiors and Tr...

One of the Twin Cities

Minneapolis during the fall is chilly. Thankfully we stayed around the convention center/downtown and the Skyway really helped us navigate the city and stay warm. Although it can be confusing at first it is pretty easy to get around downtown if you just follow the maps posted and know where you want to go. Even if you don't know where you want to go you can still enjoy walking around, taking in all the views without being out in the elements. While there we ate at so many good restaurants! Hell's Kitchen, Hen House, and The Local Irish Pub to name a few. I really enjoyed the atmosphere in each of these places, but The Local Irish Pub had to be my favorite! I felt like I was back overseas enjoying time in an actual Irish Pub. There was wood and hidden nooks all over the place and like a typical pub it looks small at first, but then it just keeps going as you wonder about. The food was excellent (I had the Guinness Pie and tried Joey's bangers and mash) and the drinks plenty...

Fall Fun in the Park

This weekend the trio hopped back on their Remember the Removal bikes and took a ride in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This is a beautiful time of year to visit the park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather has been warm in the afternoon so we decided to take a ride while the weather was so nice. The sun was shining bright, the leaves are gold, orange, red and since it is prime leaf looking season cars everywhere! Besides the heavy traffic we enjoyed our ride. The elk were out enjoying the sun and a late lunch. The leaves falling as we rode to Smokemont Campground made the ride a fall dream. The colors were so vibrant and crunching under the wheels. I loved having a moment to just enjoy the outdoors even if I'm paying for it today. The soreness has set in because I haven't been on my bike in months, but it was so worth it! Since we are all busy with work and travel we have to find ways to stay healthy. Biking is a good way for us to do that and I loved spending th...

Grand ol' Time at the Canyon

What is 1 mile deep, 18 miles wide and 277 miles long??? The Grand Canyon!  Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona is a sight. I have a hard time describing it because when I look at it I just have no words! I am just amazed by its beauty. But what I can say is that I loved seeing it while it was snowing! There is just something magical about snow, but put that with the views of the Grand Canyon, and it's just overwhelmingly beautiful and bitterly cold. Since it was so cold and snowy it was easier just to drive around the South Rim of the park and get out at a few places for pictures. Some people were braving the cold and hiking, but I just was not prepared for walking around in that weather. I wish I would've remembered my Parks Passport to get stamps, but of course didn't have it. Just another reason to go back!
